imageMAT welcomes Mónica Ann Walker Vadillo to the MARGOT team as a Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow in Digital Humanities. Mónica joins us from Complutense University of Madrid in Spain, where she received her Ph.D in the History of Art. Mónica will provide scholarly leadership and, more generally, add scholarly content to the project site such as manuscript descriptions and blog posts. She will consult on content creation, and assist with the training of graduate students in content creation and be responsible for website moderation.
In addition, Melissa Guenther and Tara Hargrave, both Ph.D candidates in the department of French Studies at the University of Waterloo, as well as Chahinda Ezzat Abdel Kader, Lecturer in the department of French Studies, Cairo University have joined the project. Working with the database of Roman de la rose manuscript miniatures, they are responsible for generating annotations on various aspects of the images. In addition to content creation, this group will be the first users testing the annotation software in its beta version.
